Inner Engineering,

The Key to Inner Happiness and Joy

Happiness is a lost word in current times without a doubt. It is tough to find the correct balance in life in the contemporary world. To truly find fulfillment, you need to notice how you experience the world inside of yourself. This is key since people tend to fixate on the outer world, convinced that’s where all their experiences and emotions – negative or otherwise – lie. This is well described in the book Inner Engineering: A Yogi’s Guide to Joy by Sadhguru.

Engineer to Get the Balance

As described in the book the correct balance is reached after body mind and soul are aligned perfectly and that alignment is affected by making some significant structural changes, in other words engineering ourselves.

In the book, Inner Engineering, we get to know that engineering and structuring ourselves is of equal significance to mechanical engineering outside. To start with yoga is always looked out as a keeping fit activity whereas it is much more than that narrow perspective. It explores many perspectives as philosophy and form of prayer targeting the energy centers of the body and sharping our mind. This perspective targets all kinds of people in this modern world who after achieving milestones that they had aimed to stand for, finding themselves at a crossroads yet again.

The Balance and Control of Knowledge

The most important key that is described in the book is to let go of the knowledge that stops you from thinking independently, consciously, or stops you from experiencing at the moment. The facts and experiences of others we have in mind make us respond unconsciously in the way we should but not how we are too.

Human perceptions and emotions are self-generated, so you can guide your experience of life.

Whenever something happens we have a set of emotions and reactions in our head but is that really necessary? The emotions right now control our body but it should be the other way round we should have control of what we think, we should be able to engineer our being to a more conscious being.

Realizing the Significance of Oneself Leads to Inner Happiness and Joy

To be conscious or to have a natural conscience people usually take the help of alcohol or drugs when surprisingly according to the doctors we, ourselves, can produce this particular chemical “bliss molecule“ called anandamide which stimulates the nervous system much as smoking marijuana does. To trigger its production, you need only exercise or experience states of ease and flow while doing work.

To experience life, we must first recognize how insignificant we are in the universe. Not just that, but we must also know that any thought we might have is even less significant. Our intellect stops us from the path of inner happiness and joy because we are always caught up in what’s on the outside instead of structuring the inner.
Hence, through the book, Inner Engineering, we know that inner happiness is the product of balance which is achieved through the independent effort of moving into conscious response and experiencing life as it comes not from the knowledge of others. At last, activating our energy centers to the ultimate happiness.
