Why so much Cancer & Autoimmune issues?

Now 40% of the US citizenry will have a cancer diagnosis at some point in their life. By 2010 it will become 1 in 2 or 50%

We are in the middle of a cancer epidemic.

Last year 554,000 Americans died of Cancer

They say NHL has increased by 50% ... way too dramatic to be a hereditary thing alone - having an 'epidemic' of diabetes & obesity also in USA, Britain, WWII European countries. Is it often coupled with the hard to find anemia? AIHA or IMHA

Too Much Cancer! For our Military & Civilians today, too *

People are dying all too young from a multiple of autoimmune issues, and cancers, too. We should be concerned about this epidemic & start looking into the health harm of the glycol ethers for the cause of them. Also for the cause of rapid acceleration of global warming. These chemicals break down into CO and CO2. The glycol ethers are not getting blamed for much of anything that they do. Research shows these cancers.

I hope doctors will consider looking at the same medical info in a new light. I can't think of anything worse than letting the glycol ethers continue to harm us ... and for us to give more chemical exposures (often even medications) hoping for help. I suppose our health care costs could bankrupt us all by themselves. Continuing on the road of 'helps' we have been on would be a big mistake. A new direction will definitely be in order.

Since EPA lifted all restrictions on this chemical at the lobbying of chemical companies in 2003, I suspect EGBE should be suspect for contributing to the rapid acceleration of global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps. http://www.valdezlink.com/re/gwarming.htm

I hope that someone with influence will notice that I have stumbled onto something, and that Alaska can contribute to our Nation's health information. Finding out what happened to 1000 young men who were 'bioremediation' workers of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill (2-butoxyethanol form of glycol ether) will help this chemical from continuing to harm our soldiers and our babies & our moms and dads and the hardworking people who are most at risk (Those who clean, who paint, who WORK)

Worst exposure is vapors in your eyes. Everyone also needs to understand 'secondhand solvent exposure.' Recall a serious 'flu?' ... or ongoing 'sniffles?' (loosening of the sinuses) * with diarrhea many times?

This chemical causes multiple autoimmune issues at once.

What are the glycol ethers? * *

Glycol: any of a class of organic chemicals characterized by having separate two hydroxyl (-OH) groups, contribute to high water solubility, hygroscopicity and reactivity with many organic compounds, on usually linear and aliphatic carbon chain. The general formula is C_nH_2n(OH)₂ or (CH₂)_n(OH)₂.

The 21st Century Cancer ALERT Act (S. 717), co-sponsored by Sens. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), attempts to break down the barriers that impede cancer research and prevent people diagnosed with the disease from receiving the treatment they need. While there is no specific funding mechanism attached to the bill — the federal government already spends billions of dollars annually on cancer research and treatment programs — the sponsors believe it modernizes the fight against cancer by focusing on America’s aging population, environmental hazards and unhealthy behavior that keep cancer rates relatively high. The bill also encourages more collaboration among cancer researchers and better cooperation among health agencies.

Soft tissue sarcomas ... all of them

* "She's sick with the stomach flu" This is very serious from my perspective as I recognize this as an exposure to some type of glycol ether (not a virus) It is this chemical (often in the form of 2-butoxyethanol) that causes so much cancer, autoimmune issues and military 'syndromes' regardless of time of service or war served in. (CFIDS, CFS, FM often there, too. Ask her doctors to consider Rituxan or gamma globulin or glyconutrients to help stop the body from turning autoimmune. Is breast cancer a soft tissue sarcoma?
