Some Bad Products - Can harm us and our children and our Pets

  1. Audrey's husband only misted Simple Green - 45 min at work - 6% EGBE

Many cleaning products that are said to be safe, ARE NOT  *

    2.  Spot Shot Carpet Cleaner is 38% 2-butoxyethanol *  & misting is the worst form of exposure

(Nancy's Persian Cat, Gizmo:   I used this rug cleaner a few months ago.  As A owner of a Persian cat, a day or so after using this product he became lethargic was vomiting blood and bloody stools. I called the Spot Shot phone number on the can and was told that no way their product caused this illness and it was perfectly safe.    Writing to inform you that on 12-21-05 my Persian cat had to be put to sleep.  Kidneys and liver were gone also difficulty breathing his poor little body filled with fluid.  Please do not use)

(Karen, "Recently, my cat -not even two years old- was diagnosed with renal failure. After many tests (and more $2500 of vet bills), the docs are leaning toward a toxin as a cause... the only problem with this diagnosis is that my beautiful little gal is an indoor cat, and I own no plants (or cut flowers) at all. In fact, the only toxin she could possibly have been exposed to is SPOT SHOT... not by me, but by my cat sitter who was caring for my gal just before she became ill." Karen's cat developed a rare protein leaking nephropathy that no one can quite explain & asked, "Have you heard of cats developing kidney failure after exposure to SPOT SHOT?")

    3.

I just looked at the MSDS that Gary sent me ... the lacquer - paint thinner is SO scary ... Lacryl 208 thinner MSDS shows 50-75% is ethylene glycol monobutyl ether CAS No 111-75-2 pdf  One product developer was screaming one day that the 5% concentration of it in Glass Plus was unsafe for home use!

C6H14O2/CH3(CH2)2CH2OCH2CH2OH

Oh, my goodness ... and this Lacryl 218 Retarder  is much worse ... the double compounded version at 75-100% concentration

C8H18O3 / CH2(CH2)3OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OHDGME

Note the chemical formula of these 2 here & more info

For the MSDS to say it is only #1 hazard category - a slight risk - is mind-boggling to me

MSDS show these Poly207 pdf and Lettering-V3 pdf

as Hazard level 2 or 2+ .... but I don't know if they are more hazardous that these
