Lymphocytes

Lymphocytes are small white blood cells that bear the major responsibility for carrying out the activities of the immune system; they number about one trillion. The two major classes of lymphocytes are: B cells, which grow to maturity independent of the thymus, and T cells, which are processed in the thymus. Both B cells and T cells recognize specific antigen targets.

B cells work chiefly by secreting soluble substances called antibodies into the body's fluids, or humors. (This is known as humoral immunity.) Antibodies typically interact with circulating antigens such as bacteria and toxic molecules, but are unable to penetrate living cells. T cells, in contrast, interact directly with their targets, attacking body cells that have been commandeered by viruses or warped malignancy. (This is cellular immunity.)

Although small lymphocytes look identical, even under the microscope, they can be told apart by means of distinctive molecules they carry on their cell surface. Not only do such markers distinguish between B cells and T cells, they distinguish among various subsets of cells that behave differently. Every mature T cell, for instance, carries a marker known as T3 (or CD3); in addition, most helper T cells carry a T4 (CD4) marker, a molecule that recognizes class II MHC antigens. A molecule known as T8 (CD8), which recognizes class I MHC antigens, is found on many suppressor/cytotoxic T cells. In addition, different T cells have different kinds of antigen receptors-either alpha/beta or gamma/delta.

Diann,
Allergic responses can be triggered by t-lymphocytes and also by immune globulins.  We treat this reaction through skin testing and treatment and with a biological response modifier made from your own t lymphocytes.
This modifier together with treatment of allergies and rotary/elimination diet can do much to correct this response. The American Environmental Health Foundation at 1-800-428-2343 or 214-361-9515 in Dallas, TX has articles dealing with the Autogenous Lymphocytic Factor and its use in patient treatment.  The article numbers are 35 and 73.

Endocrine Disruption

is what happens with some chemical exposures:  the glandular systems and immune system do not function properly.

It is the responsibility of the industry to prove a chemical is safe; not the responsibility of the consumer to prove it isn't; chemicals are 'guilty' until proven innocent.

 More on the Immune System

Auto-Immune System Dysfunction

I wonder if autoimmune skin issues ... are from exposure to butyl or 2-butoxyethanol AKA Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether

Schamberg's Disease Schamberg's Disease, also known as progressive pigmented purpuric dermatitis, is a chronic discoloration of the skin found in people of all ages, usually affecting the legs. It slowly spreads throughout the body, and is most common in males.
Stevens Johnson Syndrome - an Autoimmune skin disease *
I wonder whether this is an autoimmune issue ... one a myriad of autoimmune issues that exposure to BUTYL or 2-butoxyethanol would cause.

I learned about the chemical because someone in my family worked as a bioremediation worker on the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup and this was the named chemical of harm

Get a very good list of the Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome symptoms, as EGBE should be suspect for causing these. At all costs ... avoid butyl. You can tell if it is in your cleaning products, paint ... because you will get 'the sniffles' diarrhea, or worse: vomiting & flu symptoms.

Anemia is not generally found as too many things going on at once & the blood numbers appear to be at least borderline normal. I suspect this is the fatigue Senator Kennedy is dealing with (if so severe lack of oxygen in red blood cells) that leads to seizures is a side effect of this chemical exposure also, and I have tried to contact his doctors c/o his office to tell him so, and ideas I've found to consider for help.

By the time these people see a doctor ... there is likely to be abnormal blood pressure, body temp and blood sugar (AI Hypothalamus)

It should be suspect for Autism & many birth defects AND the cause of 'military syndromes'

The high white blood cell counts are an anemia sign for these groups

Degenerative Disc Disease - one of the autoimmune things it leads to

Other common signs of CFIDS is memory loss, difficulty sleeping, depression, autoimmune red blood cells (AIHA or IMHA), FATIGUE, FATIGUE, FATIGUE! ... and any autoimmune issue that exist is possible in many combinations.

When cancer comes along as a side effect, especially kidney & liver & bone & bile duct and pancreatic, brain tumors or tumors anywhere (such as soft tissue sarcomas), you will notice that everything is blamed on the cancer and instead they appear to be dying of the anemia: gasping for breath, rapid heartbeat, 'the chills'
