I saw the re-broadcast of Hamilton Jordan's Memorial Service on C-Span2 on May 27, 2008 This was the day after Memorial Day, 2008 He had three wonderful children who spoke also, ages 16 thru 24
President Carter spoke Dr Ellen Frauenthal, his former physician spoke (quarterback on the cancer-cure team) Dr. Frauenthal is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and, in 2004, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Piedmont Hospital Foundation. She is a recipient of the American Women's Medical Association Award. Dr. Frauenthal is a co-founder of PrepareFirst She said his first emergency surgery was in 2006 Sounded like he had mesothelioma lung cancer
Hamilton Jordan was very intelligent, very humble A man who gave of himself to others A man who had good character & honorable convictions A man who had a good sense of humor A man who had hope "No such thing as a Bad Day" he wrote A champion who helped cancer victims & looked for more research for a cure. A man who loved his family and his Country & his God Tom Johnson (former CNN President 1990-2001) spoke
Notable quotes shared at the Memorial service: Now 40% of the US citizenry will have a cancer diagnosis at some point in their life. By 2010 it will become 1 in 2 or 50% We are in the middle of a cancer epidemic. Last year 554,000 Americans died of Cancer. Hamilton Jordan thought Sam Nunn should be President of the USA some day ... or at least Vice President (Senator Obama, are you out there?) Find HOPE and Hang on to it! Somehow I think he would like 'The Carpenter' story * Bloom Where you are Planted * More on Hamilton Jordan & Thoughts on a cancer causing chemical * Margaret Diann margaret.realhelp@gmail.com Copyright © 2002 - 2009 Margaret Diann Hursh except for any previously copyrighted material, if any |
