My husband had his first round of Rituxan last Monday, followed by injections of Methotrexate, Vincristine, and Leucovorin , and 2 milgr of decadron in the hospital. He came home Saturday and is taking pill form Procarbazine and Leucovorin and 2 milgr of decadron until 9/2.

The first 2 days in the hospital he was very, very hungry and enjoyed eating. By the 3rd day he was not; even when I brought him food from home.  He does eat, but he eats very little and if I am not home he doesn't eat at all. He lost 10 lbs in one week. He is also very moody and depressed (even more depressed than before he found out about his mis-diagnosis) more depression ... angry all the time and has no patience with me or anything else. He also looks much worse than when I brought him into the hospital. He seems to sleep all the time and not want to do anything, but I can't tell if it's from being depressed or tired. To me it seems like its the depression. If its' depression again, he refuses to take anything for it."

"We go back to the Dr tomorrow to have his blood test; then back to the hospital the following week. His Dr said he will probably need 4-8 cycles of this type of treatment. I will discuss this with the Dr, but in the meantime,

My question is this: Has anyone experienced the moods, depression, and not eating while receiving treatment? Does it get better or worse? I heard as the treatment goes on, it gets worse and there are more difficulties.

Any advise for me? I am going back to work Wednesday; maybe this will help.

I think this is a good choice.   Rituxan for AIHA?

All those other drugs, what are they for?  If they aren't helping, ask the doctor to stop them.
