VEGF and ALS?
Does anyone else have the symptoms mentioned?
 
  •  muscle weakness in one or more of the following: hands, arms, legs or the muscles of speech, swallowing or breathing
     
  • twitching (fasciculation) and cramping of muscles, especially those in the hands and feet
     
  • impairment of the use of the arms and legs
     
  • "thick speech" and difficulty in projecting the voice
     
  • in more advanced stages, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing and swallowing

    I would like to see how many people have these symptoms, and if they took Avastin or not, and if so for how long?

    By the way - I am still a big fan of avastin... this appears to be a very rare side effect so far, and Avastin has shown to prolong life, usually with a pretty high quality.. so I don't want to scare people.

Just bringing up the possibilities.

Even if a Virus is found, does not mean it is the cause of what ails you.

You should consider EGBE / Butyl / 2-butoxyethanol exposure for these issues (overall term ... for causing CFIDS, CFS, FM)

and that something as simple as exposure in home cleaning products and the lack of disclosure for it ... could cause many brain tumors or make them worse, and have these other autoimmune issues as a part of it

Apparently, it is very rare. It might not even be related - as it seems so rare that perhaps it is just a coincidence - people get ALS who don't have brain tumors or avastin. Perhaps people who are genetically prone to getting ALS might get pushed over the edge by having the brain tumor, or maybe radiation or the avastin.

I was watching a tv show this morning called the doctors. They were talking about a link between herpes simplex virus and Alzheimer's disease - that a very high % of brain samples in people with the disease have the virus. They also mentioned a possible link with the virus and autism.

Perhaps there is a link between ALS and a virus - maybe the same virus that is now being talked about as being associated with gbms.. because we hear of people with strange neurological symptoms even when the tumor is doing well - people who didn't take avastin. It is all so complicated. But worth talking about.

My Friend, Norm  -  She had effects of this chemical prior to her birth, her own direct exposures, but it was the 2nd hand solvent exposure when she went to church mid Sept, 2007 that caused her death 3/2/08.  They blamed her death on the cancer that showed up, but in the last hours of life she had the signs of the anemia.  I suspect this anemia is the number one killer in the Nation.
