Glioma Brain Tumor Discussion Forum   *

I have been wondering sort of the same thing. GBM4 is suppose to be a rare form of cancer. However, both my father and my brother had GBM4s. My father died in 1971 but my brother is still doing ok after 18 months.

Also the step-grandfather of my grandchildren died of a GBM4 3 years ago and my neighbor died 7 years ago of a GBM4.  I think it's not that rare.  Kvickr2
PS Both my father and my brother were military. My father was career Army and fought in WW2 and in Korea. My brother spent 13 years in the Marine Corp and is a Gulf War veteran.  This has me sort of worried as my son is a Marine and will be going to Iraq in January.  Kathy
I agree with you that the brain tumors that started being tracked in 1977 by the Center for Disease Control should increase more and more as the years go on.
There is a new way to look at what is going on
We can get exposure to the brain tumor causing tumor today; AND any ancestors who fought in a war, were most probably exposed too;  brain tumors can be a late to show 'birth defect, as I suspect for Thelma
Some Famous Actor Heroes of WWII ... Did they have a serious 'flu?'

2-butoxyethanol type exposures should be found to have harmed the WWII vets, too - Some of our Actor Heroes   AND   AND   AND

Is EGBE the primary chemical exposure of harm for Vietnam Vets? *
Did he or a parent fight in a war?
Did his body temperature become subnormal?  Blood sugar & blood pressure out of line?
There is a common chemical exposure for military & civilians alike that should be suspect for causing brain tumors & many other cancers ... autoimmune issues.
You would want to avoid a chemical exposure that can aggravate or make worse brain tumors.  You can be at risk yourself ... just from some cleaning products and paints that are in use today
I think exposure to ethylene glycol monobutyl ether aka 2-butoxyethanol is the primary cause of brain tumors and can be recognized & located at every serious FLU & continuous 'sniffles'
Look for the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome pattern, actually,
Short term memory loss is a noticeable effect
of exposure to 2-butoxyethanol.
So are these things::
Sometimes the following ... in one stage or another ...
  • Chills
  • Fatigue
  • Pale color
  • Shortness of breath
  • Rapid heart rate  *   *
  • Yellow skin color (jaundice)
  • Dark urine (indicative of blood in urine - never dismiss this! Stop exposure immediately!)
  • Red blood cells that are small-sized, fragility of membranes, etc
  • Enlarged spleen   *
These are symptoms of hemolytic anemia - what this chemical is said to cause.
Loose your temper easily?
(partial list of clues for this)
  • Short term memory loss
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Personality changes to 'grumpy' - Extreme Irritability
  • Difficulty sleeping at night - Sleep apnea? Narcolepsy in the opposite extreme?
  • All the time Depression
  • Suicidal Tendencies
  • Mimics true psychiatric disorder
May affect multiple other body systems & organs
Hormones out of range - High or Low - Especially the Pituitary
Horrible Headaches
Maybe pituitary headaches - something related to hormones & autoimmunity

Consider good nutrition and glyconutrients for help
fatigue that didn't have a diagnosis?
Do the checklist of the pattern & fax it to your doctor/s
including the blood sugar changes, the BP changes, the body temp changes
I recognize the pattern of this chemical's harm (CFIDS)
and you can too! *  Even Autism ... look for 'flu symptoms'
Look for what gets blamed on a virus

High or low blood pressure, high or low blood sugar and high or low body temp
