My dad is still in his coma condition even though its been 7 days since we admitted him into ICU after a seizure and decreased consciousness.
 
His Neurologist says that use of Steroids (Decadron) is the only option he has and my dad is also having sever urine infection which is causing fever to him. Neurologist says since my dad was using steroids for the past 5-6 months his immunity is drastically effected and this is stopping him from increasing the dose of Steroids (Decadron). Since Steroid can cause the immunity to fall rapidly and this might increase his infection as well..
 
Please suggest if there are any other ways that we can explore to solve his edema.

Tumor further progressed.
Now on Avastin + CPT 11

 
The reason I have a strong interest in brain tumors

 

Is that it is a side effect of exposure to  BUTYL or 2-butoxyethanol

The seizure may be a sign of a lack of oxygen

The high white blood cell counts may be an anemia sign

Is there blood in urine?  (Also an anemia sign)

Then I would ask for an approved blood donor to lie next to him and give blood that is immediately transfused to him

Swelling, by the way, can occur any place
even the heart

He can still hear you
Be careful what is spoken around him
What nutrition?

 
Is your dad being fed through a feeding tube?

What do doctors suggest to stop the immune system from attacking you (him)?

I wouldn't suspect metastasis *

With 2-butoxyethanol or BUTYL exposure, it should be called the shrapnel chemical

where it starts up first is irrelevant, because all by itself it can cause cancers of several kinds

 

I would also suspect that if BUTYL is as harmful as I suspect, and some MSDS info confirms,

Randy Pausch would want his family cautioned to avoid it. *

Especially in home cleaning products

 

And to take special note of when 'the sniffles' or diarrhea start up

to notice what is going on differently RIGHT THEN and when 'flu' symptoms start up

 

Update on Dad:  11-17-08  Excessive Sleep and not opening eyes

My dad is discharged after a 16 day stay in hospital. Now he is not having any fever so its a sign that his infection levels have come down.

But he is sleeping for close to 19 hours a day. Even if he is awake he is not opening his eyes and nods his head with out opening his eyes. Any Ideas?
