Autism and Cleaning Products
|
Dear Friends, Mother Margaret, in Valdez, is burning out. Her
studies took her from the Exxon Oil Sill cleanup in Prince William Sound
to the effects of cleaning products in our daily lives. I have always
felt she was on to something big; that she could be the next Erin
Brockovich or Rachael Carson. There are times, like now, when she feels
like a voice crying in the wilderness. Autism now strikes 1 out of 150
American children. Could it be exposure to cleaning products?
I received this from Mother Margaret today: I overheard a mom concerned about her little boy being sick after spending a day at day care. She was talking to a clerk at the bank. Said he had a fever, his eyes were burning, checks red, mouth dry ... First thing that came to my mind, What were they doing that day at day care? Cleaning up early before all the kids were picked up? Food for thought, Mr P

Safe Cosmetics Dear Friends, A few more thoughts from Mother Margaret: "Mr. P, I just found out that a hazardous component in nail polish is DIBUTLE. I remember 'the sniffles' my granddaughter had one day when giving her mom a pedicure." |

Exxon Appeal * Exxon's Appeal argument is seriously flawed. |

The money (3.4 billion) to clean up the spill was not all spent on
others. They brought in the chemicals, owned the product, and
bought if from themselves. But worse, they POISONED the
environment. Not bugs eating oil ... 'Spray 'n Washing' the beaches with
a poison, neurotoxin: Hurting our environment worse than the OIL
and the PEOPLE, too
Never you mind that they first three days after the spill, the weather was calm, and ideal for sucking up the oil (Unit in for repair). Next they could have burned the oil; and now I strongly suspect they wish they had done one or the other. |
