Lamentations
3:25
The
Lord is Good to those whose hope is in him
God
has put people in my pathway every step of the journey.
"I
started 13 years ago, we didn't know anything about it,
never
heard the word before much less pronounce it."
Ricky
Clark and I were diagnosed 2 weeks apart in August 93 and Ricky lived
only two months (both having systemic diffuse scleroderma).
Ricky and I , borne and raised here in Calhoun, Georgia, grew
up, went to school together, decided that we had to try and make a
difference. So... we were starting a support group for
this disease we knew nothing about.
Unfortunately
with Ricky's passing, I became very discouraged, depressed and
wandering what I was to do. Then God showed me that I
could go ahead, Ricky and I could still work together, so I started
the Gordon County Chapter of the Arthritis Support Group.
Doing this for three years just wasn't quite right.
Still
getting sicker by the day, I was sent home from the hospital after one
of my many surgeries with no hope left on 14 prescription drugs
and dying..
I
had a baby, 14 and 24 year old. I couldn't give up!
My
sister Kay who was sick herself, just going through breast cancer
surgery. chemo therapy and radiation on and almost dying herself
several times, did research and got me the name of a Naturopathic
doctor in Idaho. After three months of extensive cleansing and
rebuilding my body with nutrition, I starting to improve, I started
doing research and investigation on my own body.
Then
God gave me the vision about the Hope for Life Family and the Ricky
Clark Memorial Celebrity/Amateur Golf Tournament. The Hope for
Life Family is a group of volunteers that come together yearly to put
on the annual golf tournament and dinner/banquet/auction to benefit
scleroderma research and education. This year will be our ninth
event, November 2, 3 and 5.
All
net proceeds have gone to the Scleroderma Research Foundation, Inc. in
San Francisco, CA to help find a cure for scleroderma.
After
several years of trial and error, improving more as I went, I was
blessed by being able to (after two years) of giving up all
prescription drugs, replacing them with God's medicine and nutrition.
I want to point out, that I had and still had and have a great support
of medical doctors that I still use when I need them. They might
not have always agreed with me, but they always supported me in my
efforts and I appreciate all of them very much for that.

I have hope, I want you to have hope Disclaimer: This information is how I, Vickie Goswick beat scleroderma. It is not and does not guarentee that anyone else will get well this way. I just want to share my story of Hope and Healing. |
