Benzene has been there all that time, but the thing that changed was 2-butoxyethanol was drug through the town en route to the bioremediation of beach oil & Corexit trials (12% and 38% strong in 2-butoxyethanol respectively) Plus workers exposed to 2-butoxyethanol came into town & breathed out the fumes into the eyes of our people. Second hand solvent exposure. Our chiropractor and tax workers & spouses of workers ... also harmed. Our people retire & die elsewhere ... or they are part of the statistics of Anchorage or Seattle or Fairbanks where they have ended dying Valdez has many old-timers that know more background.
