troops today subject to 'gulf war syndrome' still?

There is a common chemical that is used in oil dispersants, degreasers, household cleaning, too; not to mention many industries:  painting, dry cleaning, plastics, remediation of oil, that causes all the symptoms of 'gulf war syndrome'  Look at this research:     In fact, there are people who have the same symptoms, mostly since 1989 that are civilians in the Dept of Defense who help with decontamination of tanks, etc who have the same symptoms, too;  even those in the Navy in recent times.  But it has been going on - exposure to this type of chemical ... since before WWII & continually gets worse.

Please ask the military powers-that-be to limit troops exposure to 2-butoxyethanol and to it's complex form Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether.  A little of these chemicals is probably no big deal, although exposure is cumulative.  However, just cleaning their guns DAILY is too much exposure for our troops.
  • The government can require full disclosure of all ingredients from suppliers.  No more of this 'proprietary' malarky. . . or 'we're not mentioning the ethylene oxide, it's just 'trace' you know.
  • The government can inventory all cleaning/degreaser/remediation products brought into use since 1989 and find what percentage is the 3 mentioned herein.
  •
  • And the government can limit troop exposures to these chemicals by wearing goggles and gloves and giving troops the list of symptoms that indicate too much chemical exposure.  Then they can back off - and not come home to live sickly lives and die of 'natural causes' before their time.

Bring our troops home safely without injuring thousands inadvertently. AND ask the Legislature to ban these chemicals.  They are not safe for anyone at all.

What happened to Staff Sgt James Alford

He is not an isolated case

Even now, I don't believe these have an accurate diagnosis:

Check these things - were they poisoned by 2-butoxoyethanol?

9-15-05

For those with strong, DIRECT exposure(s) (not birth defect effects) ...
To find the harm of 2-butoxyethanol - you have to prove the fatigue of CFS, CFIDS (Doctors say they do not know what the fatigue is):

- Autoimmune hemolytic anemia

Thankfully, everyone doesn't come down with everything this chemical can do AKA  ethylene glycol monobutyl ether.  The biggest clue to its harm is
  • blood in urine.  Next clue is
  • red blood cells that are small-sized * (immature?)  You need to know that, because liver and white blood cell tests don't read right if red blood cells are predominately immature.

"Glucocorticoid hormones are involved in how the body utilizes and stores carbohydrates, protein, fat and blood sugar."  How are your  hormones?  High or low?

Just back up info for you:

These are the symptoms of too much of ANY chemical... how the body will respond to such:

too much exposure to a couple of 'ordinary chemicals used in cleaning, degreasing, remediating

Consider what the studies show this chemical does:
