We need to take more care when using household cleaning products.

www.valdezlink.com/ppe.htm  No matter how effective a cleaner is,

if it can't be used without cumulative harm to you...

because appropriate protective equipment isn't feasible,

 don't use it!

Workers at Serves in Valdez have shared that

British Petroleum has banned the use of 409...

they considered it unsafe for workers.

BRAVO, BP!

BRAVO, Gail Evanoff!  *

Since these same workers are on the precipice of being exposed to more
Corexit- a failed experimental chemical of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill cleanup days ... I have hope that BP will ban it, too, & safely get rid of the 800 gallons of Corexit currently stock-piled at the terminal.  It's an Exxon product that they don't tell  much of what's in it... but from what they do say, it's more than lye, like one worker thought.... much more.

It's some mix of 2-butoxyethanol and ethylene oxide most likely, & that's nothing to treat lightly... whether at home or at work.  In fact RCAC has studied Corexit & does  not recommend to Alaska that such dispersants be used.  Exxon has dumped this in our ocean in 1989 by airplane. Now they want to gain widespread approval after a week's testing in NJ ending Monday, Feb 17.

Contact BP, Alyeska, EPA and any Congressmen you can.  Don't let what happened to the oil spill cleanup workers happen to any other workers.   If you know someone who worked on the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, please get a hold of me.
