Hypothyroidism and started gaining weight?

Cushings' Syndrome weight gain?

Syndrome X  -  Difficulty with weight loss

Just as Thyroid ailments and things like Cushing's Syndrome (both of with can be autoimmune) can cause weight gains that are above and beyond the normal & have to be dealt with differently, Syndrome X would be the same.

My doctor didn't mention that what I have is Syndrome X, but from noticing the changes in me in recent years, and looking at the symptoms, it does appear to be a 'match'

I used to be able to eat ANYTHING and I never had a problem with cholesterol of any kind. Now, in my mid 50s the cholesterol went off the chart (compared to what I was used to) and also type 2 diabetes showed up. AND carrying my extra weight around the middle? yes, and for even longer

Now that I've learned that Type 2 insulin resistant diabetes is an autoimmune thing, per lef.org literature (& what I would suspect) I also notice that blood sugar can go to 500+ in an exposure to 2-butoxyethanol; I've heard of it several times by those in our town who WERE exposed to it directly & having flu-like symptoms .

(So, I thought it would be autoimmune, but only had noticed Type 1 and juvenile type 1 diabetes on 'the list' as being autoimmune)

Before I saw 'the picture coming together' with what 2-butoxyethanol does , I took the glucophage that the doctor prescribed; but after 6 weeks an old rash reappeared & I didn't want to take something that was hard on my liver, and that my system was 'objecting to' as too much of some chemical.

Next I'm going to take something along the lines of glyconutrients and see if it will help the immune system stop being autoimmune. I'll let you know whether or not it works.

I suspect that in my case the Syndrome X & type 2 diabetes are an affect on me of my dad's exposure to such a chemical. I don't know for sure, of course, but we saw personality changes in him that he didn't have before he married mom; a brother is missing one testicle (that's a birth defect & the chemical does target the testes), dad died too young of a 'heart attack' (& other things such as an ovary, fibroid tumors in uterus; overly enlarged uterus)

So instead of blaming 'McDonald's food' and the eating habits of the American public, maybe researchers could check in another direction as well.

But here are some thoughts about good foods & your diet  *

On the Right Track?

"I know that glyconutrients have been beneficial for a number of diabetics. One that comes to mind was in danger of losing her foot. the doctors were talking amputation so she decided to "try" nutritional support. Not only was her foot healed, she lost 20 pounds and her night blindness!"     Patricia Lynn

Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?

Patricia, do you think they would help

  • My Friend, Helen, who has 'the symptoms of this chemical's harm' from cleaning her bathtub over the years with Lysol Tub 'n Tile? Her doctor has given up and told her to just go to the ER - no appt open for herWe suspect her Aglow friend, Thelma, had a  brain tumor which was most likely an exposure to a similar chemical, most likely from her dad.  Everyone that knew Thelma loved her so much.  What an unnecessary loss!
