This
is really SCARY if you ask me. Because the worst exposure to
this chemical is vapors or mist in one's eye membranes.
This
is my letter to EPA I hope it's not too late to stop this
pending EPA decision ... as they are being lobbied by the
chemical companies.
I never got a reply to my letter, but do hope it was passed on
to the right dept. It will be the young and the elderly that
will be most affected by this pesticide/poison/solvent ...
well, maybe everyone actually!
This 2-butoyethanol and other butyl ethers are most likely the
cause of gulf
war syndrome (per my study ... awaiting the medical
evidence) and
CFS, CFIDS
& the like.
Now
here's a handy reference on how one's body gives you warning
that you have been exposed to too much of any chemical ...
continuing on to share more specifically what this butyl ether
will do.
I'm hoping to see our population be more educated in the harm
of this chemical & wage war in our US Legislature against
it. Wonder
what they found out for the auto workers .... (&
painters) when it was looked into last year?
What is 2-butoxyethanol? ... also
known as ethylene glycol monobutyl ether? MSDS
Now don't just think that this chemical's harm is a distant
possibility ... that it doesn't affect you. I believe that
because only the secondary symptoms are given for health
diagnosis, instead of 2-butoxyethanol poisoning (and they are
LEGION)... means that many, many people, including your own
friends and family and many you know are harmed by it, but
said to have been ill or have died from other things instead
...
there's a way to test for the harm of an often used
cleaner/degreaser that causes so many 'side' symptoms. In
fact, unless you have a
lot of seemingly unrelated symptoms, don't suspect this
chemical.
Those with CFS, CFID and gulf war syndrome should also check
out this source of harm, too. The news isn't good, we all
know, but an accurate diagnosis will be better than blaming
'secondary' symptoms & their
resultant diagnosis.
2-butoxyethanol's first cause of harm is to the red blood
cells. It is the first noticeable effect of this chemical: fatigue.
It is a hemolysis that doesn't show up in the regular tests,
but with a retic ratio (mature to immature red blood cell
ratio) you will notice an abnormal reading from
2.5 days after exposure. This compensated hemolytic
anemia starts up right away and underlies all other symptoms.
It is the cause of your fatigue.
The reason this chemical's harm is so hard to diagnose is that
it affects so many systems in one's body and sometimes the
results of one ailment counter the test results on others. AND
doctors don't expect one chemical overexposure to affect so
much.
My theory is that the unknown fatigue of CFS, etc is most
probably this fatigue: premature red blood cell destruction. I
believe it is provable. Share
these comments with your doctor and let's see what the
evidence is
Margaret
PS -
Those with CFS, CFID and those who have worked on any oill
spill cleanups ... or those with 'gulf war syndrome' (whether
or not a gulf war vet) should also check out this source of
harm. The news isn't good, we all know, but an accurate
diagnosis will be better than blaming 'secondary' symptoms
& their resultant diagnosis. No more experimenting
on these dear people! No more saying, 'you don't know!'
