Non - Serious - But when Johnny comes marching home again, Hurrah!    Posted here

a peppy tune for the sailors

For the marines, et al  military

Said a military man who first contacted me regarding this hymn,
"Don't bother me with your info on gun cleaner, I'm training our boys how to win the battles"

To which I thought, OK, save a few hundred lives and put multiple thousands at risk for s l o w d e a t h Who wants to see another Gulf War Syndrome? If they used gloves and goggles when cleaning the guns, it might save them from health harm. What does the Material Safety Data Sheet say about repetitive use? I'd be especially concerned about snipers with their eyes so close to their guns and fumes in the heat.

When Johnny comes marching home again! Hurrah!

Oh Man,

I can see it now !

Sgt; ya got some gloves and goggles, I cant keep my weapon clean without them.

Whats next ? Santizise the C-Rats before opening them>.???

enough........

If products can't be used safely - DON'T Use

Good Point!

If the troops can't abide by the proper use directions for weapon cleaning, then find out what the proprietary ingredient is, USA, and see if the consequences are major or minor.

There are other products that can accomplish what is needed without harming troops, eh?

Since the public doesn't have an education on what 2-butoxyethanol and diethylene glycol monobutyl ethers do to you ... simply giving the 'Proper Use Instructions' of wear goggles, gloves, rinse eyes for 15 minutes, don't get in waterways, etc. DOESN'T CUT IT

Say to the public instead, "that they will have damaged: blood, liver, kidneys, skin, eyes, central nervous system including depression and short term memory loss, and suicidal tendencies; endocrine system (high blood pressure/high blood sugar/reproductive damage) and tell them, too, it doesn't take much exposure to cause this! The more exposure the sooner you die; and the more horrible the death. Cancers very probable. Sterility possible . Children at risk for birth defects and leukemia and tumor of the brain. Multiple existing health studies 'skewed' because the primary cause is not mentioned or known:

2-butoxyethanol poisoning

During EVOS cleanup, there was only one primary chemical of harm, 2-butoxyethanol. The workers experienced these things.  Since best I can tell, they don't know the effects of 2-butoyxethanol on humans ... it would be invaluable to check health of the Coast Guard 'bioremediation' monitors and the Navy who worked with Corexit in 1989 - compared to the Gulf War Syndrome vets of 1990-1991. I would expect they would look more similar to each other than dissimilar... if, that is, 2-butoxyethanol is the common chemical of harm.

Do they have these symptoms of hemolytic anemia?  *

AND, do they have this blood damage?  *

Combined with an assortment of these?  *

Symptoms like these

Well we shouldn't leave out the 'bioremediation' workers of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers. They were the 'target' group for what was a failed experiment (even if you've heard otherwise). Of the 1000 young MEN that are still alive, today they would be 33 years and slightly older. Most of them were college kids earning money for school. They had no idea they would be giving up some of their life in exchange.

Can you answer this question on Civil Servants helping the military since 1990?

I hear that some who work for the decontamination centers around the USA are coming down with 'gulf war syndrome' symptoms.

I asked one what they used to 'decontaminate' equipment. First reply was ' We use what is right for the task at hand'

which of course, told me nothing.

So I asked, "Do your products contain 2-butoxyethanol or diethylene glycol monobutyl ether?"

and I have heard nothing.

This Marine trainer more concerned about chocolate

Partially hydrogenated fats - such as in oreo cookies, bad for you?

I suppose that goes for frosting and chocolate, too?

I've been thinking about your post, and have thought that too many people overlook the 'basics' of good health: eating whole food, forget the diet stuff, pop, etc. Such as suggestions offered here.

Many times the medications can make you worse, if the Doctor doesn't know your past exposures and that you may need to avoid chemicals thereafter. So a prescription drug is not a 'cure-all!'

Here is what a Marine's trainer said this week: "Please stop e-mailing me. I appreciate your cause, but I have a job to do to help save lives in combat. Not worry if the stuff I use to clean my rifle is safe. Hell chocolate is far more harmful then the cleaning supplies. Worry about the fat problem in the US. I will worry about training our boys to protect your freedom. Thank you"

So, you have his vote!

Staff Sgt James Alford - Not an isolated case

There is another in his unit - with same symptoms

According to this news article his symptoms started before he went to Afghanistan.

It sounds like he has a neurological diagnosis, but is there more?

Does all of military use JP-8 instead of JP-5 jet fuel?  1-11-04

I heard that there was a test on JP-5 done by the Navy in about 1994. Anyone know how I could get a copy of it?

I don't understand why JP-3, JP-4, JP-5 and JP-6 are labeled as pesticides by EPA. What did they put in them that is not in JP-8?

In using JP-8 it is supposed to not allow ice build up; and also be a fuel that can be used for all military fuel needs. (That's what a jet fuel refinery man told me, anyway.)

I suggest to you that troops in Iraq are still having some soldiers use jet fuel to burn up the 'out-house' stuff, and if it is one of the types labeled
as pesticide ... those soldiers are unnecessarily exposed to harm (a gulf war syndrome 'exposure')?

We used either JP-4 or 5 in our Hummers on many occasions in the Gulf. We used "mogas" in our equipment to heat water and some warming stoves. No idea what "mogas" is but that's what it was called.  Lastly we used diesel to burn the crappers clean.  - David
MOGAS - Acronym For Motor Gas

That's very interesting. It is a term referring to severe service metal seated ball valves

But for what we are interested in: power resources or in Narrower Terms - aviation fuels, captured fuel, diesel fuel marine, fossil fuels, motor gasoline, nuclear fuels, synthetic fuel,

Related Terms: fuel research, fuel storage, supply class III

Here is a history of US Navy patapsco gasoline tankers AOG: AOG AVGAS, MOGAS & JET FUEL (Vietnam era)

In 1996-1998 there was a high performance Mogas fuel system developed for racing cars using natural gas: a clean-burning fuel, mild to the engines, which helps reduce engine wear and maintenance. NG also has superior safety factors and offers significant fuel cost savings.

Do you think it was something experimental? Or an older type fuel the military refers to as MOGAS during 1990-1991?

If you used diesel for the 'out-house' burn-up, that would seem to be safer than JP-5

These 2 chemicals have not been researched or studied

Some things take a little investigation - Here is what 2-butoxyethanol does to people   This is a favorite site - How to get some research on what 2-butoxyethanol does & see the symptoms ...

Kidney and Liver function?

Says a 31 year old - diagnosed with kidney failure:

"Yes, I remember all to well when my eyes started burning like there was hot pokers in them. It coincided with a VERY nasty stomach bug...vomiting, the runs...it was miserable.  My urine turned black, like coffee.

The day I got sick I had been cleaning up at work.  That night I was so sick...took me 2 days to get the energy up to drag myself to the doctor's office & threw up all over it for him to tell me I had the flu."

Margaret:  "These 'flu' like symptoms are also the signs of having too much chemical exposure of some kind.
