a Chemical
Profiling ... An interview for the purpose of looking for
suspected chemical exposures that could lead to health concerns
throughout one's life to the present.
These are the facts of his health issues as he understands them:
Jeff Bailey - age 70 (August, 2006) - February, 2006 is 50 years
of Federal Service.
What can he share about each of his parents? Did they
serve in the military or did they do painting, cleaning, work in
a manufacturing plant? No,
he grew up on a farm in northern Alabama: Bug Tussle.
(That's near Cullman; Anniston,
AL is farther south in the NE part of the state where Dow Chemical caused a lot of
environmental damage from its chemicals (Shame on EPA for not halting
it when it was discovered) Which way did the wind blow? On
the family farm they grew
COTTON, corn, potatoes (Irish, sweet
& yams), pimento peppers and tomatoes were added later
on. They raised & butchered hogs & had mules and
horses. He remembers a bad infestation of bow-weevils in
the 1940s when he was a boy. They sprayed with DDT ... no Toxaphene.
After a rain you would find the fish in the streams would float
to the surface. His
mother died at the age of 37 from hard work. Jeff was only
15 years old. What
siblings did he have? Two younger brothers. Jeff served in
the Air Force as a weather man. His brothers were also in
the military. His brothers have good health, are married
and each have 2 children. What about his
grandparents? Did any have the CFS
or Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome symptoms?
(Probably not in those days, but others might need to check)
- From the age of 8-16 he would have every three months or so
... debilitating headaches
- Did this alter his libido? Did he have an interest in
girls? Was he ever married? YES, & he &
his wife had twin girls & a son. What is the health
of the children? Good.
- He was in Korea at end of Korean war & remembers a
serious FLU
- He was on medication for high blood pressure
- Some
overweight - but not obese; quit being Santa when
he lost weight.
- 1989 he worked in the weather office - Valdez
during EVOS days
- 1996 - Prostate Cancer
- 2003 - Colon Cancer
- His diabetes was noticed in 2000 & after medication it
is now in normal range - He saw an endocrinologist, Dr. Nolan
- & has been removed from the medication he took
- 2004 - Triple Heart bypass surgery (high
bad cholesterol?) Following with a SEVERE
depression & suicidal tendencies. Was this from
medications and drugs used in the surgery? He shared
that he had been warned that he could have depression after
surgery & he did, the most serious he has ever had:
depression to the point of suicidal tendencies
- 2005 - Diagnosed with
pre-Parkinson's by a local doctor.
- Does not have chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms as to
fatigue - However, he can be in his car or in a
restaurant and fall fast
asleep in less than 5 minutes. Is this the way fatigue
shows up for him? Does he fall asleep at work?
Well, maybe (or
is this a normal sleep from overwork?) Not lack of sleep, but
oversleeping during daytime seems to be some 'out of the
ordinary' It appears there could be a mild version of Narcolepsy (an
aspect of nervous system damage more than fatigue) Some memory loss.

He also told me that when he hit puberty, his
headaches went away
| Is the pattern of 2-butoxyethanol harm here? How
would I interpret these facts, with that question in mind?
I've asked him,
is there blood in urine? Are red blood cells
small-sized? If so, doctor could do test for autoimmune hemolytic
anemia that this chemical is said to cause
- Or check
these things
Whether insecticide &/or pesticide ... effects
could be similar & become worse with more exposure.

| One woman in our town shared the same type of headaches
that Jeff described. For her, she said, they stopped
when she entered menopause. So I suspect the headaches
may relate to the pituitary or some gland that is affected
by hormonal changes. Thus, with Jeff's headaches being
around the puberty years, I suspect that he may have had
some effects prior to his birth from a parent or grandparent
who was affected by 2-butoxyethanol type chemical. It is a teratogen
and does have effects upon future generations.
However, in that he lived on a farm where insecticides were
used during his boyhood ... that could have had an effect on
his hormones, nervous system, etc |

This is "in process" as to my views

11-28-05 I spent 2 hours this past week listening to
a man in our community share on his health concerns: and asked
him some more questions Dec 18, 2005 |

Toxaphene is an insecticide
containing over 670 chemicals. It is usually found as a
solid or gas, and in its original form it is a yellow to
amber waxy solid that smells like turpentine.
It does not burn and evaporates
when in solid form or when mixed with liquids. Toxaphene
is also known as camphechlor, chlorocamphene,
polychlorocamphene, and chlorinated camphene.
Toxaphene was one of the most
heavily used insecticides in the United States until 1982,
when it was canceled for most uses; all uses were banned
in 1990. It was used primarily in the southern United
States to control insect pests on cotton and other crops.
It was also used to control insect pests on livestock
Toxaphene is an insecticide
which is currently banned for all uses in the United
States. Breathing, eating, or drinking high levels of
toxaphene could damage the lungs, nervous system, kidneys,
liver, adrenal glands, and immune system and can even
cause death. Toxaphene has been found in at least 58 of
the 1,430 National Priorities List sites identified by the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

| As
medical doctor and scientific researcher, Dr. Emil Mondoa explains
that eight essential sugars, known as saccharides, are the basis
of cellular intelligence and communication.
The ability of cells
to communicate and work together is necessary to keep us healthy
and balanced. Even tiny amounts of these sugars (or lack of them)
can have profound effects on our bodies. Written 2001 |
Written
in 2003 - by a nutritionist who most likely benefited from the
research of Mannatech - Excellent intro
He was dying of Crohn's &
regained his health with good nutrition and glyconutrient
supplements
Both books recommend eating
mushrooms (knarled type) in homemade soup as a good source of some
of the glyconutrients |
I hope others will direct some of their energy toward healing.

Late onset
diabetes, high bad
cholesterol and autoimmune metabolic issues may be helped by
glyconutrients and good nutrition
... which I suspect these in many
cases are birth
defects from a parent's WWII exposures to a chemical such as
2-butoxyethanol in the bomb fumes, jet fuel, cleaning
compounds - Also in much of what was used in manufacturing
