Dear Doctor,

I have been looking into the harm of 2-butoxyethanol for nearly four years now, and believe I have stumbled upon the FATIGUE of CFIDS.

If I am right, it will change the way medical science looks at CFIDS,, diabetes & many autoimmune metabolic issues, hormonal irregularities, brain tumors, cancers and birth defects.  I suspect the US Congress would eventually ban this chemical from the many cleaning products & paints & oil spill cleanup products.

I hope to secure a grant from NIH & locate a researcher also interested in this topic.

Proof is in the blood. The literature on 2-butoxyethanol states that it causes hemolytic anemia.  I suspect it is autoimmune.  It often looks like the flu & 2.5 days after initial exposure reticulocyte count will be markedly elevated, but only briefly.  There will be blood in urine.  http://www.valdezlink.com /acute.htm www.valdezlink.com/why_fatigue .htm

At first red blood cells should look 'ragged and beat up' and over time become small-sized with fragility of membranes.  I don't know what that means.  Could it be that the ratio between mature and immature red blood cells is 'off'?  ... and that though there seems to be adequate hemoglobin, it can't be accessed appropriately?

I have no medical background, however, I do recognize the pattern of EGBE harm.  I was perplexed why the workers with Inipol EAP 22 and Corexit of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup had many health concerns, but the blood was looking 'OK'

Blood in urine almost immediately ... diminishing until too miniscual to calibrate ... & then there should be an abnormal peripheral blood smear with paralysis possible.  Estimating the total exposure possibilities AND how long ago would be helpful.

I believe there is more in common than is dissimilar with the WWII vet, the Vietnam Vet, the Korean Vet, the 'gulf war syndrome' vet and today's military:  they should look like the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup worker who was harmed by 2-butoxyethanol in 1989.

Any suggestions on how to locate a group for a study, would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,
