I wanted to share with you a conversation I had with a lady in my town. Someone told me that years ago she was so weak and tired that she couldn't get out of bed to go to work, and even after trying to do part time, couldn't. She had to give her job up. She said she came down with CFS and FM in 1991 and she knows the exact day when it started.

She was attending a conference for Parks 'n Rec people in Juneau when these flu like symptoms started up. She felt like vomiting and she had diarrhea. She felt bad from that day to this. Many years she had various tests taken and has since given up trying to figure out what's wrong.

I asked her, who were you talking to when the flu - like symptoms started ... She replied, "I can't remember what I had for dinner last night." (Memory loss actually is part of what 2-butoxyethanol exposure causes ... early on)

I mailed her some info & hope that she can find out if it was 2nd hand exposure to 2-butoxyethanol, as I suspect it was. Back then, there may have been some Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers attending also (?)

Lots of things are autoimmune. I believe this chemical to be an autoimmune metabolic causing chemical AND the cause of CFS, CFIDS, FM ... or for which ever sub groups of ailments you want to group together. I suspect it for causing reproductive harm and birth defects that are metabolic ... there's a whole list of syndromes and autoimmune issues that the doctors say they don't know what they are caused from.

I suggest they should consider the 2-butoxyethanol poisoning of people.

It seems to cause diabetes many times, too.

• and from a parent who has been chemically poisoned by 2-butoxyethanol.  It is a teratogen chemical, and I suspect it is the cause of Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome.  Does a parent have that?
