Another Cause of Lung Cancer

CNN had good coverage today on the death of Dana Reeve at age 44 from lung cancer.  She was not a smoker.

Ed Levitt came on TV and said that 2 years ago he was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and given 1 month to live.  He had tumors on his adrenals, in his legs, pressing on the nerves in his face.  He was able to take some medication that shrunk the tumors & although they are still there, they are not doing anything.

Of course, smoking is blamed, even if only as 2nd hand smoking

I suspect 2-butoxyethanol exposure which is easy to come across & get multiple exposures in one's life.  We have people in our small town, & being around workers of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup would be a cause of some exposure for many.

Soft tissue sarcomas are not all that rare if you look at them as a whole

You would be dealing with a chemical that targets multiple organs/glands/body systems at the same time .  Not something that starts one place and spreads to another

I would like to ask Ed Levitt if he recalls a serious 'flu' in his past, followed by many of this assortment of symptoms .  Does he have blood in urine?  Are his red blood cells small-sized?

(Many years down the road look for abnormal peripheral blood)
