Dear Margaret

My wife has recently has a high red blood cell count and has put on about 3 stone in weight without the food intake to claim as being the problem.

My wife had a nervous breakdown about 7 years ago and was put on a medication called rispodol which increased weight. Since the weight my wife has
changed medication to solium which the psychiatrist said was not a weight increasing drug.

My hope is you may have some options for my wife to try reducing the weight and bring down the red blood count. The other thing she was told was she had a fatty liver. Hope you can help.

Regards
Ray

Thank you for your question

Does your wife have other symptoms like that of the chronic fatigue syndromes?

Regardless, I think that glyconutrient food supplements should help and your doctor/s may be pleased to learn about them, too

Many issues we deal with are autoimmune issues, and in my opinion, glyconutrients along with good nutrition are the best help

AND be sure to avoid exposure/s to 2-butoxyethanol,
the autoimmune causing chemical

Usually this chemical will cause a drop in red blood cells, but the reticulocyte count might be 'stuck' in overdrive & making the replacement RBCs too fast, so too many.  Are the red blood cells immature?  fragility of membranes?  small-sized?

Is there any trace blood in urine or abnormal peripheral blood ?

PS  A few years ago there was a lab tech who did a blood draw for my doctor and in the conversation I had with her she shared that her sister had worked on the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup and that she had too much blood and the doctors were 'bleeding' her.

I thought to myself, 'not a good idea' -  some day she will not have enough blood'

I have no medical background,
just observed 'what the chemical does'
