Severe cough can be a sign of chemical exposure

This must be very frightening for your family to see one so young - 9 months - with severe cough. Something doctors don't think of; but which is very real, is the effect chemicals have on people. Note warnings your body gives - below

Can you think of things that were different when this cough started? Did you paint her bedroom? ... start using some room fresheners? ... use something different in the cleaning/degreasing? Like spray your oven with cleaner?

Children are more affected by chemicals (as are the elderly) Please give this serious thought. What is different now, than before she started coughing? How long has this been going on? Maybe start washing her clothes in ivory instead of harsher cleaning compounds? What do you use to clean her when you give her a bath?

I reflect on a couple whose 2 week baby died by her organs shutting down one by one, starting with her liver ... there was no explanation given by the doctors.

But a chemical such as 2-butoxyethanol, that is in frequent use in paints/cleaners, etc ... if someone gets too much of it, that is what can happen

I can remember 2 instances of groups of people with cough
  • (sounded like a TB ward) during the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup - sleeping quarters;
  • and a gulf war vet group cleaning trucks/equipment for 10 days continuously with DAWN.
Symptoms of too much of any chemical: 'symptoms of too much of a chemical exposure... flu-like symptoms, etc'.

Symptoms in order of most frequency: "(most common first) include: headache, sore throat, voice change or loss, constant humph, catarrh, unexpected tiredness, fatigue, sore/watery/gritty eyes, irritability, anxiety, depression, loss of concentration, short-term memory loss, reactions to other chemicals, dizziness, blocked nose, rhinitis, mouth ulcers, bad/metallic taste in mouth, lip sores, chest tightness, shortness of breath, chest pains, asthma, sinusitis, nasal discharge, nose bleeds, ulceration of nasal mucosa, itchy burning skin, rashes, dermatitis, aching joints and muscles, fibromyalgia, uncontrollable twitching, heart arrhythmia's, palpitations, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, tinnitus, earache, pins and needles, numbness in fingers and toes, Raynaud’s Syndrome, menstrual irregularities, pain/difficulty urinating. Other areas of concern include liver damage, cancer, teeth and gum problems, reproductive effects and lack of interest in sex.

Everyone should have this posted where they can check for new 'signals' your body is giving you .... that you may have a chemical exposure.

Now, if you are not doing anything differently, is there something going on in your community? What manufacturing are you near?

What work does your husband do? Maybe there is some 'second hand solvent exposure' occurring? If not from you ... how about from others who care for her
