Do you feel exhausted and wonder why? Or why do you think you are anemic? What is involved, anyone, in getting the Retic ratio? I've heard that sometimes the RBC can look at least borderline normal (Not the case here, anyway) but that the Retic ratio will let you know whether or not there are enough MATURE red blood cells. More the kind of thing that painters and oil cleanup workers, dry cleaners & those who clean & work with degreasers, in general, need to be concerned with: a chemical called 2-butoxyethanol or ethylene glycol ether.

These chemicals are very harmful, but it hasn't been noticed by too many people. OSHA did look into the harm of 46,000 auto workers exposed to it - last year. They are not only solvents (surfactants) but also pesticides and poisons. EPA has tested 2-butoxyethanol and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether for endocrine disruption. So if you are having symptoms of 'gulf war syndrome' with the memory problems; and also the endocrine disruption (abnormal readings for thyroid, blood sugar, blood pressure, reproductive effects) this chemical could have something to do with that. Do you remember a time when your eyes were burning, your urine turned dark and you felt a horrible exhaustion that seemed to stay with you? Check more in depth stuff in your blood. The basics usually look OK.

By the way, you can be exposed to this solvent 'second hand' Someone primarily harmed by it, can pass it on to you, if you are close to their breath, skin, etc.
