Subject: Just for You!!!!

Diann,

I just created this file last night and finished it today just for your web site. I do hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it for you. I have heard a few of the files on the net of this song and just felt that none really captured the essence of what Ronnie was trying to convey in his own simplicity of writing style.  Sometimes even the simple arrangements give the author's work more clarity.

Ronnie is a "good ole' country boy" and his faith in Christ is manifest in his writings as are the works of so many of my friends in this business.

The file has encryption within it that the song was prepared for you. I hope you can use it. I probably won't be posting it to my own site until after I return from Minnesota later this month. (50th High School reunion) So you will be the first to post if you desire so to do.

God Bless!!!!!

Here:   "Lighthouse" music

refresh page to see 'lighthouse' motion

1.    There's a Lighthouse on the hillside, that overlooks life's sea.
When I'm tossed it sends out a light, light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness, now will safely lead me home,
And if it wasn't for the lighthouse, my ship would sail no more.

Chorus:  And I thank God for The Lighthouse, I owe my life to Him.
Jesus is The Lighthouse and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me, so that I might clearly see.
And if it wasn't for The Lighthouse, where would this ship be?

2.   Everyone that lives around us,

says tear that old lighthouse down,

The big ships don't sail this way anymore,

ain't no use in it standing round.

But then my mind goes back to that stormy night,

when just in time I saw the light

With the light from that old lighthouse,

that stands there on the hill.

Chorus: And I thank God for The Lighthouse,

I owe my life to Him.

Jesus is The Lighthouse and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me,

so that I might clearly see.

And if it wasn't for The Lighthouse,

Where would this ship be?

Diann,

Well I am glad that I finished that MIDI for you when I did. When I originally started work on it (Mother's day) my daughter Laurie Kay stopped into my downstairs studio to tell me she really liked the song.

She had heard it from the third floor of our house and came all the way down--which was most unusual.

I told her it was still in the very beginning stages,

which it was,

but she liked it.

I began to share the wonderment of Jesus really being our "Lighthouse" and for the first time she listened rather intently.

I was going to have it finished for her by the time she came back down (she was an actress in Hollywood)  and was going to take time off to come  and "house-sit" when Tanya and I went back to Minneapolis for my 50th High School reunion and her mother's 80th birthday party. She was to come on June 4th - the day we were to leave at :2:30 pm for the airport.  We had not heard from her after the Memorial Day weekend but knew that she had planned to fly out to Thermal, CA  to an air show on that weekend. We became more concerned when she did not answer our messages to her, but then having been in the entertainment business myself, I realized that she may have just not wanted to come down. She was taking flying lessons and loved to fly so her trip was not that unexpected.

We had arranged for someone else to watch the house (and really our many animals) and were waiting for the Airport Limo when the phone rang. When the man on the other end said he was from the Los Angeles County coroner's office my heart just sank. I knew then why my daughter had not called us for two weeks. She was killed as they took off from Van Nuys airport when the plane nosed dived from about 2000 ft. Being a pilot myself, I was sadly aware of the many possibilities involved. The NTSB has updated me on the cause but no final determination has yet been submitted.

Your prayers are coveted. If it would not be too much trouble, I ask that you post on your beautiful web site the new MIDI file of Lighthouse I am sending you in which I have encrypted a dedication to Laurie's memory.

Also I am sending the news story and the local paper obituary..

May God Richly Bless you and your efforts.
