On August 8^th, in conjunction with Valdez Gold Rush Days 2003,

we will be holding our first ever

Going to the Dogs Costume Ball

This is a fund raising event to raise money to remodel the animal shelter.

The building is over 40 years old

and was originally built to be used as a sewer treatment plant,

not an animal shelter.

There are many problems causing an unhealthy and unpleasant environment 

for the animals, the workers, the volunteers and the public.

As part of this event, we will be holding a silent auction.

We are asking businesses to make donations of items to auction off,

with all the money raised from this auction

used towards improving the shelter and conditions for the animals.
