Diabetes

The Diabetes Epidemic "We now see an alarming number of children and teens with Type II diabetes"  Dr Mirkin

... even as young as 2 years old  Larry King-Diabetes Panel - May 20, 2005

Maybe certain groups of people are considered at high risk for diabetes because they have typically done cleaning * and menial tasks through the decades that would expose them more to this chemical, 2-butoxyethanol

Lou Gehrig was a 14 lb baby & 3 other siblings died in infancy.  His mother cleaned laundry & cooked to make ends meet.  They lived in a poor area of New York.  What odd jobs did he have?

In Valdez, Alaska since the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup, doctors have seen a lot of high blood sugar leading to kidney failure.  My doctor said that they didn't understand why there was such a complication from 'diabetes'  (I would call it endocrine disruption from 2-butoxyethanol exposure).  I suspect they are dealing with an effect from a chemical which also targets the kidneys and liver. (Autoimmune liver).  Still haven't heard that the underlying fatigue is being found, though, not unlike the rest of the nation these past 70 years

Consider:

Diabetes may be from a chemical exposure?

What about high blood sugar (or low)?  Maybe diabetes type 2 is part of what this chemical causes, as a late appearing 'birth defect' OR with sudden onset after flu-like symptoms - after one's own direct exposure to 2-butoxyethanol.  Maybe that is why overweight and Syndrome X (metabolic problems, too?) and kidney failures eventually ... are part of what a chemical exposure does?  Maybe we are dealing with a chemical which is targeting the kidneys directly*   That causes many autoimmune problems?

Type 2 diabetes first 'classified' in 1959?

CDC started keeping track of brain tumors in 1977

I suspect mass exposure to 2-butoxyethanol in the rocket propellants and industrialization jobs of America during WWII (even for Pres FDR and the primary cause of his death 4-12-45) ... and for the Vietnam vet, the gulf war vet ... painters, those who clean ... even for  housewives

Blood sugar high?  and starting when?

Metabolic problems show up first as blood sugar abnormalities, &/or early on as gallstones (related to liver) and later kidney stones (related to thyroid metabolic issues &/or damaged pituitary)  Is Autism a metabolic problem? .. a birth defect?

drMirkin-diabetes  & on weight  Syndrome X  doesn't believe in autoimmune?

Glucophage?  Not if glyconutrients will regulate autoimmune immune system

Change in blood pressure - too high or too low?

Anyone have gout? ...  in addition to the commonly held belief that gout is caused from eating too much meat and rich foods ... or from gluttony ... could there be another cause?

Is there another reason besides diet & exercise (or the lack of proper diet & exercise) for the epidemic of obesity and diabetes in our country in recent years? Yes. And that's my point

I'm not saying it is the ONLY cause. I am saying that the proliferation of n-butyl ethers ... in particular the ethylene glycol monobutyl ethers since the 1930s is causing the epidemic.  I would consider extreme exposure to 2-butoxyethanol or diethylene glycol monobutyl ether ... capable of causing a lot of autoimmune issues, in particular, ALS such as Lou Gehrig had:
Is Lou Gehrig's or ALS Autoimmune?  Lou Gehrig - Famous Baseball player
In autoimmune hemolytic anemia, the body produces autoantibodies to red blood cell membrane proteins. (size? shape RBCs?)

In diabetes mellitus, autoantibodies are formed against insulin receptors.

Graves 's disease is associated with autoantibodies to thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) receptors.

Pernicious anemia can be caused when autoantibodies are formed against intrinsic factor which is needed for vitamin B12 absorption.

Researchers have proposed that ALS may have an autoimmune basis

The following are the bases for their hypotheses:

Analyses of ALS patient sera have identified circulating antibodies secreted by denervated muscle. These antibodies inhibit the stimulation of the sprouting of axons, the long arms of neurons which conduct nervous impulses to other neurons throughout the body (Onion 1998).

Researchers have found an immunoglobulin that affects the conductance of neuronal voltage-activated calcium channels which may induce an excessive release of glutamate from nerve endings (Onion 1998).

Several studies of ALS patients found the presence of antibodies that interact with motor neurons (Pestronk et al. 1988a; Pestronk et al. 1988b; Pestronk et al. 1989; Niebroj-Dobosz et al. 1999).
Immune complexes have been found in spinal cords of patients with ALS.

It has been proposed that T cells, activated microglia, and immunoglobulin G (IgG) within the spinal cord lesions may be the primary event that leads to tissue destruction in ALS.

Our Nation's Health

How many WWII vets came down with 'gulf war syndrome?'

No wonder Walter Reed Army Medical Center & VA's Deployment Health say that the gulf war vet was no more harmed than the general population. We have a pandemic, unrecognized health crisis on our hands. That's what I think.
