2-butoxyethanol - pesticide/solvent

gulf war troops were exposed to

and the Korean Vet, and the Vietnam Vet & the WWII Vet?

This is the chemical I've studied from the Exxon Valdez oil spill.  I believe it has been harming our nation unnoticed for nearly 3/4 of a century

Actually I did consult with and received help from MANY chemists & biologists, etc. along the way.  Why I looked into this in the first place

I also suspect that this group would not qualify to donate blood because they would be too low on the required red blood cell volume (less than 38 which they tested me for when I donated blood on May 7, 2005)

The fatigue, I believe, of CFIDS/gulf war syndrome

& some helps in finding it

2-butoxyethanol and ethylene glycol monobutyl ether are on the list

(along with complex versions) of solvents and pesticides the gulf war troops were exposed to.

One reason it may have showed up more in 'gulf war?'  Also they put Corexit into the military (a non selected chemical concoction of Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup which is 38% 2-butoxyethanol)    Could walk into the arms room & get vapors in eyes.   AND it is most likely in the gun cleaners

Info shared with Chad Pagel, GWV of Indiana

A gulf war vet did share that he came down with Parkinson's at age 32 (no history of such in his family)

A doctor (52) from that time just had an operation for prostate cancer.  Says he has no family history of such.  Says he would help with a study;  Another doctor, Dr. Reg is also willing to participate in offering free glyconutrients to help the immune system  if others will help & funds to medically test Before/After.  His suggested model

There are groups that need to be studied

There are 3 bioremediation workers I know

I know a DEC man then who also lives in Valdez and has expressed extreme interest in the 'rapid heart beat' & similar issues.

I have been in e-mail contact with a US Coast Guardsman who monitored the 'bioremediation' group & has been unable to father children:  Zero sperm

The harm of this chemical is provable - even if someone has died.

But it is those harmed by it who have the proof.

Sincerely,

M. Diann Hursh, PO Box 233, Valdez, AK 99686   907-835-3135
