It's a disgrace that only 10,000 soldiers are getting disability out of 3 million that served in that period. Surely there are many more harmed than that. Does the govt make it so hard to be approved?

Well, they are saying that the Ranch Hand study was flawed, not enough people in the study to prove anything.

And Dow chemical says they can't be held liable to the Vietnamese who are suing them for birth defects, etc. ... because all they did was do the govt's bidding. Well I beg to differ with them. They have concealed the real chemical of harm ... the EGBE additive to jet fuel (or similar) ... and they've been doing it for decades to military and civilians alike. Why can't the USA find the real cause of 'gulf war syndrome?'

Dioxin gets the blame for what another chemical does That's what I think. Compare what dioxin does to what the Vietnam vets came down with ... it is not a match.

It is a diabetes causing chemical. It causes cancers and birth defects. It is in jet fuel, most likely and jet fuels #s 2-6 are labeled as pesticide

Yes, I agree ... What I find with gulf war vets #1, however, is that they have their mind made up. There is no point in talking to the most of them; others, however, do listen, such as Chad Pagel of Indiana. I have learned a lot from him ... such as why bacteria was showing up in his blood. (I think the immune system became autoimmune & started ignoring the bacteria). He told me how his group secured the airport & all had lost their bowels (horrible diarrhea) at that time. I suspect this chemical was there somewhere ... or should be suspect.

These 3 soldiers fell ill with 'flu symptoms' & died. I still want to know what they were doing 5 minutes before the flu-like symptoms started. They had completed their tours in Iraq and this happened state-side.

Although the research is done, practically speaking ... the pattern of harm of ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is unrecognized, but I don't expect that to keep on. Surely some of those harmed will be checked out by their doctors who are noticing 'the pattern' and they will be the ones who have the proof.

The weapons sergeant in Afghanistan who had done a hundred paratrooper jumps ... as well as hunters who clean guns frequently are just as much at risk.

I'm interested in knowing what happened to the WWII vets I suspect that much of the credit given to heart attacks may instead be collapsing from the advance stages of the fatigue that this chemical causes.  Audie Murphy may have had some effects, too, such as the Central Nervous System damage. I heard he was never himself thereafter. PTSD terminology didn't exist until the early 60s... and I suspect (except for the bad dreams) much of this is the CNS damage that the EGBE chemicals would cause.

I suspect there was enough exposures to this type of chemical that they collapsed from lack of full functioning red blood cells ... thus lack of oxygen. That it wasn't their fault.

When you are dealing with teratogen chemical exposure ... that means this poisoning can damage chromosomes (21, 18 ... ?) so much of what is blamed on our genes is nothing of the kind. Our ancestors have been poisoned and then we are getting our own exposures ... the more exposure the worse the effects.
