What's Too Much?

... of 2-butoxyethanol?

Has OSHA decided to reduce what is considered safe in recommended exposure?

... although already low?

What does it do anyway?

As a fertilizer for microbes, assuming the right ones are present:

surfactant and stabilizer as stated on the Inipol EAP 22 MSDS...

Expert Comments:

"Its primary purpose in the formula is to keep the whole mess pourable,

although if they heat it first, I have no answer for that at all."

"You don't need large amounts of surfactants for the bugs either, just enough to help solubilize the oil so its edible.

2-butoxyethanol is not a food source for ALL bugs, just some. Of course neither is petroleum a food source for them all."

"Too much surfactant is harmful to fish too, so the amount must be strictly controlled and limited."
