The MSDS (9-25-01) continues to say the health dangers... hemolysis based on animal data

(Why don't they get Exxon's human blood results?)

On the MSDS they give for 2-butoxyethanol   boiling point is 100C  (Also 3-15-02 MSDS * )No- 2-butoxyethanol has a higher BP, inipol has *

... and that harmful or irritating derivatives can be liberated at elevated temperatures.

Don't breath vapors or exposure limits are exceeded.

States a Chemist:

"If Boiling Point is >100C and you heat to 90C then the vapor at the nozzle end will be enormous.

Did any workers notice effects?"

Rats given this material orally for 6 weeks showed red blood cell changes which resulted in spleen, liver and kidney effects including increased spleen and liver weight.  For longer term...will exhibit effects on blood (anemia), liver and spleen, as well as reduced body weight and reduced thymus weight

2-butoxyethanol is the one ingredient that is said to be readily  biodegradable....because of it's high oxygen demand. (70%?). Then a comment that urea is slowly biodegraded in river waters.
