Why is Exxon NOW paying the 100 Million Dollar Settlement

... with the Punitive Damages being Appealed?

"The money now being distributed

flows from Native settlements/verdicts reached some time ago.

As you may be aware, with approval of the Plans of distribution,

money received by any group of claimants at trial

(be it the fisherman compensatory awards reached in Phase 2,

or the Native judgments reached thereafter)

are divided among all participants of the Plans of Distribution

- as will be divided the punitive's when we ultimately prevail.

So this is not money being paid by Exxon, post appeal.

It is money paid by them prior to appeal."
