Exxon Cited by DEC Research & Development

You will notice over and over again, in videos you see reporting the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup... articles written, that seldom is there any focus on the WORKERS... which is what brought about this website.

Even when DEC Research and Development cited EXXON for illegally applying inipol at Herring Bay on Knight Island on August 19, 2002 and August 31, 2002... the video interview with Alex Viteri makes no comment at all as to the risk to workers.

(They  m i s s e d   the real issue.... certainly EXXON was very helpful & agreeable ... it had no 'teeth')

Comments, Alex Viteri, the inipol was applied improperly:  too thick; and on some bare rocks which would get inipol into the water & cause the fish harm.  "The inipol is very toxic and very expensive," said Viteri.

Oh, well, Exxon is buying from Exxon.

In a video interview of Alex Viteri on August 1, 2 & 3 with beautiful scenic Alaska Prince William Sound as the backdrop, Viteri indicates things are all worked out & speaks about the inipol as though it was a French company.  He must have been thinking about the old product before Exxon bought the contract and revamped the formula.  The product Inipol EAP 22  that was actually starting to be used was an unknown entity ...  only being in existence since July 28, 1989, per date of MSDS at least...

They still had to do field testing on this mutated variety...strong with toxic 2-butoxyethanol.

He also speaks of Exxon's trial product Corexit... as being OK... (He couldn't really know.)

Even EPA Administrator states in another video interview that the State had wanted more testing before dispersants were used on a broad scale.
