... hoping to locate the workers who should need medical help...those who worked on the Exxon Valdez oil spill clean up of 1989. (And for 1990 also)  Most of these  young men ... hundreds of them (plus grandpa who was 60 years old at the time) don’t know to mention that they were heavily exposed to the 4 chemicals in inipol EAP22 * used on the bioremediation project.  The project only lasted for most of the workers a little over a month, but by breathing in the fumes constantly and also absorbing through their skin on long 12 hour days and many multiple days, with very little protective gear there is little doubt they were seriously affected.  However, they won’t mention it when they come to you; and also, the chemicals won’t show up in the regular testing that is done for various illnesses.

 

In order not to loose any more time, or to subject them to any more trial and error procedures, do you have a recommendation that can be passed on to these men as to how to proceed? Chemical overexposures (chemical poisoning) can still affect a person years later & once the substances in the blood are found, per special testing for them as naturopathic doctors would do, there is a method of "flushing them out" and a plan for regaining or maintaining one's health?  One doctor said a fat biopsy was the best way to find these chemicals; however, they do not show up in any of the normal blood work that would be done for someone. (Correct?) Other consultants *

 

Maybe since we know the ingredients of the inipol EAP 22 project, this test can be waived, as ingredients are known.

The company's MSDS dated 9-25-01 states * the Composition of Inipol EAP 22 is *

oleic acid,

water,

(phosphoric acid, dodecyl ester), 

originally this was tri(laureth-4)-phosphate,

urea and

2-Butoxy ethanol (10-12% by weight)  *

All of these ingredients they state are identified as hazardous chemicals

 

Are there any helps to put forward on this website? *

I am going to search on the internet to help locate these men, and then, the workers who used heavy solvents to wash the gear... they need to be located & medically monitored, too.
