NOTICE
Low Red Blood cell anemia from solvent exposure

Dear Drs in hematology, oncology, urology, dermatology:

You may have some patients in the past or currently who were exposed to
the chemicals of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill cleanup.
The Inipol EAP 22 in particular was constituted very strongly with a poison,
 2-butoxyethanol
a dry cleaning solvent, for one thing.
It causes a low red blood cell anemia right away ... some type of hemolytic anemia from solvents. (immune or non-immune?  but from solvents, not more traditional sources.)

Later kidney damage and various cancers are possible.   The chemicals also defat the skin and cause all kinds of skin problems and ease of bleeding. CNS damage:  clinical depression is constant.

Looking for the workers to alert them & encourage them; to prevent future use of these chemicals on other workers.  But first facts are needed.  Survey for workers to send in  www.valdezlink.com/inipol/pages/survey.htm

Do you treat any differently if the cause is from chemical poisoning?  Would you be willing to consult with experts in chemicals' effect on humans?  (There are specialty ways to test for chemicals as they can show up years later; some clinics specialize in detoxifying & working with a patients own immune system to help their body function normally again.) There may also be patients to send your way.
The chemicals were:  http://www.valdezlink.com/inipol/pages/chemicals.htm

Do you have any doctors who are experienced/licensed in occupational medicine?
Or any who would consult with out-of-area doctors/clinic for treatment of the chemically poisoned?

and

Can you share what is typical with blood counts in leukemia
when not caused from chemical overexposure to oil or such solvents?  e-mail
