"One of the
most important
discoveries in health and disease of
the last 10 years or so, may be that the
production of the sugars that the body
requires to form glycoproteins (cellular
messenger molecules) is quite ATP intensive,
ADP intensive, vitamin/mineral dependant,
and enzyme dependant."

Both 2-butoxyethanol and ethylene oxide could have been introduced
into military 'ok to use' products (mostly cleaners/degreasers) in
stronger amounts than before July, 1989... starting with the Navy
& then filtering to other branches of the service to this very
day. Someone said they could find out; and I'm hoping they are
successful.
Everyone
can help, such as Froggy did.
These
chemicals are both teratogens. Basically, birth defects. But
it could appear that children are healthy and then later there are
concerns.
This
is true for lots of others, like those who spray paint cars;
dry cleaning and plastics businesses, too.
We had a new family move to town this summer whose dad had been in
the auto body business (they paint cars there) She was having a
hard time caring the baby to term and was very concerned as to
whether or not the baby would be born healthy.
One person exposed to these chemicals has multiple health
concerns, but is most saddened by the fact that he cannot father
children - Zero sperm & doctors have no explanation.
Everything else is OK.
Check
this NJ Hazard sheet & you see that 2-butoxyethanol may cause
harm to male testes.
Be an educated consumer; there are products you could be using
every day that expose you to too much of this chemical. If you
have had too much already, you are really stressing your body.
Everyone
needs to have a healthy respect for 2-butoxyethanol and be very
careful - always!

I'm just a mother - homemaker- By now, computer nerd! Would be
pretty hard not to find one of my web pages on any search engine.
I am self-employed working in rentals and we have a B&B in
Valdez, Alaska. If anyone wants to tell their story, e-mail me
what you want to say, and I'll make you a web page for free. |

So sorry to hear about your son; high
blood sugar is one thing that often happens with exposure to
2-butoxythanol. I have been saying repeatedly that the Dept of
Defense has inadvertently gotten ahold of products too strong in it; I
hope they start checking, as I believe it is a match for all the
symptoms I've heard so far.

Suicidal tendencies and severe depression are part of the central
nervous system damage that 2-butoxyethanol causes.... also extreme
irritability; the exhaustion is what they notice a lot of, too;
with 2-butoxyethanol that is hemolytic anemia. How
EVOS workers feel. Do yours feel the same?

I am so sorry about your daughter's health. I have heard of these
symptoms with those exposed to 2-butoxyethanol: hair loss, glandular
problems, etc such as you mention. So, if it is correct that it too much
of whatever chemical, then usually the less chemicals you use in
treatment the better. There is such a thing as a toxic overdose of her
medications, per MAYO clinic who evaluated one of the 1989 EVOS workers.
This is a sad story that began July, 1989
Best Helps I know of are things
such as offered here.
There is such a thing as second hand solvent exposure, so spouses are
probably affected by the chemical in that fashion. I'm just sharing what
I have learned
about 2-butoxyethanol I must have hundreds of web pages, so I just
picked a couple and hope they help.
