May 21, 2008 a chemical exposure to consider for primary harm to gulf war vets
Dear Dr Golomb, My Alaska Senator, Lisa Murkowski, brought to my attention your studies and interest in the harm to the 'gulf war syndrome' vets and I found additional summary information about your study. I wanted you to consider a chemical which is common to military and civilians alike, which seems to cause all the ailments they bring forth: 2-butoxyethanol aka ethylene glycol monobutyl ether.
It seems to be a primary autoimmune causing chemical, and per research done in the UK, MSDS info states that it is a primary tumor causing chemical. It should be suspect for cause of harm to blood and blood forming organs: liver & kidneys primarily. Suspect for pancreatic and liver cancers and NHL (now the 5th leading cause of death in the US) Autoimmune action on the nervous system is what I suspect is called "PTSD" by the military.
This chemical is a teratogen, a pesticide, a neurotoxin, a solvent It is listed in Book 2 of solvents and pesticides the gulf war troops were exposed to CFIDS Health Handout valdezlink.com/re/cfidshealthhandout.htm an odd assortment of multiple symptoms, generally described as CFIDS (but CFS, FM is autoimmune issues not realized)
