2-butoxyethanol - also pesticide - should be banned by Legislature |
|
The Army
Materiel Command is responsible for developing, purchasing, and
distributing all items used by the U.S. Army. http://www.amc.army.mil/
What military products contain 2-butoxyethanol? The National Academy of Sciences, in their 2003 book, "Gulf War and Health" Vol 2, page 612 on Insecticides and Solvents www.valdezlink.com/media-gws/Gulf_War.pdf
mentions these 2 chemicals as being used at that time: http://www.valdezlink.com/same.htm
So what were the known sources?
ALSO, military thinks CLP for
cleaning guns is safe.
Not with 'repetitive' use! Daily
cleaning guns happens in wartime
and it is most likely a source of one of
these chemicals, too
Do you know what the undisclosed
ingredient of CLP is?
More info
I also want to know where the military
uses Corexit 9527

Chemical of harm to our troops: Gulf War - TODAY's war
There
could be similarities, you know, between what happened in the Gulf War
to our troops and what is happening now? I believe our Troops in
wartime are exposed to too much 2-butoxyethanol in cleaners and
degreasers. If so, this is the blood damage that would be
immediate and which would be with anyone today: hemolytic
anemia. However, more than the basics needs to be checked
into to find it. http://www.valdezlink.com/complete_blood_check.htm
By the way, this is also the chemical of harm to the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers. I really do believe that if anyone had cared what happened to them, there never would have been a "Gulf War Syndrome" in the first place, or troops with their lungs filling up with fluid, either. http://www.valdezlink.com/letter_to_editor.htm 2-butoxyethanol and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether need to be banned by the Legislature. Many people in our nation are harmed by it! http://www.valdezlink.com/pass_on.htm By the way, I learned in August, 2003 that the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers who now reside in NY know that they need an endocrinologist to assess their health damage. Turns out the chemical of harm, 2-butoxyethanol is not only a solvent, but also a pesticide and EPA has done some 'work' in testing it for endocrine disruption. That is why you not only have blood damage, skin damage, and central nervous system damage, & concern for kidney and liver function, but also there is endocrine disruption. That is why you see high blood pressure, high blood sugar, metabolic changes, headaches in the area of the pituitary gland, etc. Pray for these. Their situation is desperate and their families suffer, too. Eyesight? Cancer? http://www.valdezlink.com/as_son.htm and http://www.valdezlink.com/rdn.htm 12-12-03 |
| "The
military uses many different cleaning/degreasing agents on its
equipment. Each is selected for the particular job that is
required and any personal protective equipment for people using these
agents is likewise selected based on the properties of the agent being
used. I am sorry to be so general about this but the military has
literally thousands of types of equipment ranging from small arms to
aircraft and navy ships with all of their associated components.
Virtually all of them get cleaned at some point and the cleaning agent
is selected based on the requirement of the job."
Now, who was it that told me the Troops clean their guns daily with products that contain The military can inventory all products used by infantry and maintenance and limit exposure to 2-butoxyethanol |
