Question    *

What did we Hear About all the time in the First Gulf War? *

Note the chemicals 2-butoxyethanol, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether and ethylene oxide are in aerosols and used in rocket propulsion

Note that the worst exposure is vapors in one's eyes

& it can have an effect on the land, too, for future inhabitants

And ethylene oxide  *

" ... in most aerosol propellants"

Compiled by Julia Kendall who died from chemical poisoning (1935 - 1997)

On one of her links, I find the following information:

aerosols
"2-Butoxy-1-Ethanol or butyl cellosolve are in most aerosol propellants."

Now, the latter is the name Dow Chemical uses for 2-butoxyethanol.

They are synonyms

Ah ha! And so is 2-butoxy-1-ethanol

A helps tip: www.nontoxic.com/nontoxic/askdoctor.html#link7

For Grease on Hands: Wear gloves to keep hands clean. This becoming standard practice in some professional garages.
Use citrus-based hand cleaners.

Rub greasy hands with baby oil.

Then clean with soap and water.

Scuds and the Patriot Missiles  *

There was a brief overview of these on the History Channel 11-27-04.

So sad that it was a software timing problem that would have been fixed the next morning on the Dahuran Patriot Missile. Israel pointed out to the Defense Dept that the longer the Patriot missile was operating, the more inaccurate it was in hitting the scud ... off by 1/3 second after running 100 hours, as in this case. When the Patriot went back to check the scud, it appeared to not be there, and the scud hit it's target (if there was such a thing) 28 soldiers perished in the barracks that night, and scores more injured. (?)

What I suspect for some of the cancers that those who live in that land are finding, is that these missiles would have ethylene oxide (a rocket propellant) and it is a known carcenogen: any exposure is cancer causing. (a 'de-minimus' carcenogen)

I also suspect the 2-butoxyethanol as being in the mix. As both it and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether are said to be in most aerosols
