This is a man who lived right and took care of himself.  I don't believe, however, that he has been checked for chemical poisoning as a cause.  He has lived in Valdez for many years.  In early 1990's he had melanoma eye damage & one eye removed.  6-22-03

Another possibility to ponder:

As a chiropractor in 1989 in Valdez & on....

I just noticed in an article that solvents are excreted through one's body....   many solvents are excreted through the respiratory system, maybe the skin, too   (More complete info)

The kind of cancers Dr. has, melanoma of the eye and melanoma liver cancer are types that 2-butoxyethanol could cause  (Capt Richard had melanoma, etc)

If he treated many of the Exxon Valdez Oil spill workers,

many were exposed to the 2-butoxyethanol in Inipol EAP 22

and experimental Corexit (still on the Alyeska terminal ready for use today)

The only way to be tested for chemical exposures is thru specialty labs,

the regular medical tests don't find it;

This chemical also causes hemolytic anemia right away

There would be some change noticeable in red blood counts at the point someone is affected by 2-butoxyethanol
