Subject: Our military exposed to COREXIT?

Dear Dr. John Middaugh:

I noticed that the symptoms of Gulf War Syndrome are the same as
2-butoxyethanol poisoning ...

& then just recently realized that Corexit was sold to the US Dept of Defense

                                       NO WONDER

Corexit has 38% 2-butoxyethanol & also trace
ethylene oxide (causes pulmonary edema)

Would the State of Alaska be interested in checking

the Bioremediation Exxon Valdez oil Spill cleanup workers
for acquired hemolytic anemia which 2-butoxyethanol causes?

If it is specifically checked, it could be found, I believe.
Blood damage is first and primary.

For checking for acquired hemolytic anemia would this check-list help?
The workers are not getting an accurate diagnosis;
they at least deserve that much

These workers had
too much exposure,
the chemical was too strong in the product (12%),
and the
rain gear was no protection.

Too, if we learn what happened to them,

we can prevent harming young workers in the future.
I ask workers to bring this info with them to their doctor:

For checking symptoms of chemical overexposure

Some job exposures for 2-butoxyethanol, etc

Looking for help http://www.valdezlink.com/open_letter.htm

Sincerely,

Margaret Diann Hursh

One Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup bioremediation worker

refuses to go back to the doctor,
although he was diagnosed with a low red blood cell anemia;
and did have

  • a colonoscopy,
  • a bone marrow test,
  • and a lymph node biopsy,
he refuses to be 'experimented' on further.

Per the literature on 2-butoxyethanol he would have to have hemolytic anemia

  • He does have the symptoms of central nervous system damage, too.
  • I am concerned for his eyesight
  • I am praying he will not get cancer.
