A long time resident of the native village of Chenega, Alaska moved his family out of that area after the oil spill - to protect them. They have seen 9 out of 12 elders die since 1989 - all of kidney &/or liver problems He tells his family not to eat the traditional diet: not to eat herring eggs, shrimp, chitten, etc. Usually these are eaten raw, when eaten When the beaches were 'sprayed with chemical dispersants' it was done at low tide, then it killed everything in the whole water column, per this eye-witness.
He says there is a place he loves to
take his children
where the water/beach animals are just like 1988: Bainbridge Passage
He said the reason Gail
Evanoff
would not let the Inipol EAP 22 be sprayed on her beach was because it was too close to the village, about half a city block away: Bettles Island - Too Close!
(Sadly, a supervisor of Inipol EAP 22
workers shared, that it was approved by 'the powers that be" and they
DID spray the beaches!)
Says this prior resident of Chenega: he knows of 2 'bioremediation' workers who died in about 1990; says the chemical gets on the skin & goes to the liver/kidneys. (Is this true? or a later occurrence?) Because he is a white man, they did not let him apply for the punitive damages as a plaintiff. What about those from the village who are dead?
