The reason 2-butoxyethanol poisoning is so insidious is that you can be exposed by coming into areas where it has been 

and have NO IDEA that you are being exposed to this poison. 

There is also concern about this chemical

getting in the water supply and harming multiple other unsuspecting people. 

Does anyone know how this could be tested for? 

The information on it says there is serious danger 

when it is in the water supply.

Look for a package of symptoms 

such as 'Gulf War Syndrome' before you suspect 2-butoxyethanol... it is multiple & varied symptoms, such as blood damage, skin damage, central nervous system damage, kidney and liver damage & who knows what cancers are possible?
