Gail Evanoff said she was not moving from the beach. 

If the chemicals were safe for the shellfish

... they were safe for her too

 
It is said they brought out the 'big guns' but it did no good.  

She would not budge

They left.

                                        As a precaution, beaches treated with Inipol

were flagged with bright red "scary face" balloons,

allegedly to protect fish and wildlife.

No follow up monitoring was done to determine if this was successful

as people were warned to stay away from Inipol-treated beaches

for 2 tidal cycles (24 hours).  *

She was on the right track - Follow up -

Sorry to report, that the beaches were sprayed with 

Inipol EAP 22

In speaking to a supervisor of 'Bioremediation' Crews, he said he remembers the lady trying to stop them, but they did spray the beaches there.  

It was all approved by 'the powers that be'
